Burpham’s Conservative Campaigner
Christian served as Ward Councillor for Burpham on Guildford Borough Council between May 2011 and May 2019. "Burpham continues to face many challenges in the coming years and I look forward to continuing to assist residents where possible."
The Planning Committee of Guildford Borough Council approved a planning application for an Aldi store on the site of the former Green Man site yesterday evening (25th February 2014). Opinion remains divided in Burpham over the merits of a store in this location.
In addition to lodging an appeal against the previous refusal (see post below), Aldi has lodged a new planning application with the Council. You can review the proposals by visiting the Council’s website (Click Here ) and entering the reference number for the planning application is: 13/P03028.
The application is due for determination at the end of February at the earliest.
The recently submitted appeal by Aldi, against refusal of planning permission for a store on the site of the former Green Man pub site, has been registered by the Planning Inspectorate. The appeal will be heard before an Inspector by way of a Public Inquiry to be held in 2014 (Date to be arranged).
If you wish to comment on the appeal you should write to the Planning Inspectorate, quoting ref: APP/Y3615/A/13/2208033, at 3/26 Hawk Wing, Temple Quay House, 2 The Square, Bristol, BS1 6PN by 27th December 2013
