Burpham’s Conservative Campaigner
Christian served as Ward Councillor for Burpham on Guildford Borough Council between May 2011 and May 2019. "Burpham continues to face many challenges in the coming years and I look forward to continuing to assist residents where possible."
A focused consultation is now open on the emerging Guildford Local Plan prior to its submission to the Secretary of State. The consultation runs until midday on Monday 24th July 2017. For more information, including details of how to respond to the consultation, please click here.
I’m pleased to report that my colleague Graham Ellwood had been elected for a third term to represent Burpham and Merrow (Known as the Guildford East Division) on Surrey County Council at the local elections that took place on 4th May 2017. I look forward to continuing to work with him on Burpham issues in the years ahead.

Although situated just outside Burpham, in Jacobs Well, residents in Burpham have for a number of years been interested in the future of Burpham Court Farm. The decision has now been taken (April 18th 2017) by Guildford Borough Council to sell the buildings, in their current state, whilst keeping the land within the ownership of Guildford Borough Council and actively considered for use as a wetland nature reserve.
This decision should be welcomed as it will secure the future of the buildings, probably for much needed residential use, whilst using the land for community use.
The site, which closed in 2009, is no longer viable as a stand-alone farm.
