Armed Forces Day is your chance to show your appreciation for everything our armed forced do for us. Held on 28th June, events in Guildford this year will include flag raising at the Guildhall and a Parade by the Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment through the town. The Parade will give our residents an opportunity to show their support and appreciation for our Armed Forces. More details will be released closer to the date.
With less than two weeks to go to the European Elections on 22nd May, Christian was pleased to welcome Marta Andreason MEP to Guildford yesterday. Marta was Chief Accountant at the European Commission and exposed the serious failings with the EUs Accounting System that made taxpayers money more vulnerable to fraud. Following her own election as an MEP in 2009 she joined the Conservative Party in 2013, representing the South East of England.
2014 is the 100th anniversary of the start of WW1. Members of Burpham Church and Burpham Community Association have established an independent community project called ‘Burpham Will Remember Them.’ The project seeks to remember the 18 people named on Burpham’s War Memorial.
